Geth site shipped 2022-12-22!!
process was:
- website code migrated to new branch in
go-ethereum
- geth and e.org team members added to gmail group for netlify access
- website added to netlify
- DNS (geth.ethereum.org) migrated to new site
Important notes for follow up in Q1
(also detailed in Q1 epic doc)
post-launch dev process
- we should work directly in the
go-ethereum/website branch for ongoing development
- we have merge access to that branch
- geth guys will let us know if website PRs/issues start getting annoying/too noisy
- all issues and PRs related to the website should be prefixed with
[website]:
- issues and prs on the backlog on
geth-website should be replicated in go-ethereum/website and pulled in there.
- Geth team may well start contributing PRs and issues related to the site too and will have visibility over websote PRs/issues.
Summary
With the design and content ready to go, Q4 will be about building and shipping the new Geth site. Right now the homepage and downloads pages are built and ready to review for mobile, and the team is moving on to the desktop builds and formatting the markdown pages that make up the main documentation part of the website.
