Brorow is local-first. Your financial data — debts, events, amounts, notes — stays on your device and your private iCloud, never on our servers.

What we store

Your debts, group events, expenses, payments, and photo receipts live on your device and sync via your own private iCloud database — managed by Apple, accessible only to you. Your profile (name, optional phone and email) and app preferences are kept on the device only. We never see any of it.

What we DON'T do

We don't see, collect, sell, or analyze your financial data. Your debts, events, amounts and notes never leave your device and your iCloud. We don't have our own analytics SDK measuring how you use the app, and we don't read your contacts. The free version does use Google AdMob to show ads — see the Ads section below for what data Google receives.

Photo receipts

Photos you attach to payments are stored locally and in your iCloud. They never leave your control. We do not upload them anywhere.

Notifications

All reminders are local — scheduled by iOS on your device. No notification content is transmitted anywhere. Turn on "Hide amounts on lock screen" in Settings to keep dollar figures out of notification previews.

Ads in the free version

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To request and measure ads, Google receives standard request data — device type, OS version, app version, language, coarse location (derived from your IP address), a Google advertising ID, data about which ads were shown and how you interacted with them, and diagnostic data about ad SDK performance. If you approve Apple's App Tracking prompt, Google may also use the IDFA to personalize ads. If you decline, Google falls back to Apple's SKAdNetwork, which measures ads without tracking you across other apps. Your debts, names, amounts, and notes are never sent to Google. Brorow Pro removes all ads. For details on Google's data practices, see policies.google.com/privacy.

Subscription

Brorow Pro is processed by Apple via the App Store — we never see your payment details. To manage Pro status and restore purchases we use RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a random, app-specific identifier, your purchase history, and basic device info (OS version, app version, locale) — only what's needed to manage your subscription. It never receives your name, debts, or financial data, and isn't used to track you across other apps.

Data deletion

Uninstalling Brorow removes the on-device store. To wipe iCloud data, sign out of iCloud or delete the Brorow container in iOS Settings > [Your Apple ID] > iCloud > Manage Storage. Data previously sent to Google AdMob or RevenueCat is governed by their own retention policies; you can reset your advertising identifier in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
