Module Rationale

This module explores the importance of considering content - in all its forms - as a coreelement of any piece of Digital design that can, itself, be designed. Content Design is becoming increasingly relevant in today's digital age, where businesses and organisation's are expected to produce high-quality content that engages their audience and communicates their message effectively. Content design involves creating and organising content in a way that is user-centered, accessible, and visually appealing.

A growing field, more and more businesses shift to digital channels, the need for professionals who can create effective content is increasing. To prepare students for careers in content creation, user experience design, research and related fields.

With the proliferation of digital media, it's important for students to understand how to create content that is accessible and engaging across a variety of platforms understanding of the needs and perspectives of different audiences. By teaching students how to create inclusive content, we can help prepare them to work in a diverse and globalised world.

In short, the module prepares the student for the contemporary challenges facing interaction designers working in a brave new world of content in all its manifest forms.

Through an emphasis on developing strategic approaches to content and its generation, students are introduced to additional possible career pathways, including that of the content designer and content strategist.
