Lifeline reminds you to take breaks so you don't burn out. As you work, it builds up a little break "debt," and when you rest, that debt is paid down.
Choose how much break time you earn in Preferences > Rest > Breaks:
If you keep working without a break, Lifeline shows an overheat warning once a session passes about 100 minutes, so you can step away before you're drained.
Lifeline suggests a break when one is due, and you can start one any time from the menu-bar dropdown. While you're away from the computer, your break time counts automatically.
