What each role does (plain English)
Data Engineer
- Builds the “plumbing” that moves data from apps and systems into a place the company can use.
- Keeps pipelines reliable (schedules, monitoring, fixing breaks).
- Makes sure data is complete, accurate, and delivered on time.
Analytics Engineer
- Turns raw data into clean, well-defined tables that answer business questions.
- Creates shared definitions so everyone measures things the same way.
- Focuses on data that is easy for others to use (analysts, stakeholders, dashboards).
Data Analyst
- Answers questions with data and explains what it means in plain language.
- Builds reports and dashboards people use to make decisions.
- Spots trends, issues, and opportunities, then communicates recommendations.
