Logo Mark:

Would suggest a slightly thicker stroke and wider the distance between the verticals of the U for legibility as smaller scale (app icons etc).

What colour options are we going with and what are the defined brand colours?

This is the UI Design Style, are we taking this as the lead colour palette for the project? i.e. primary palette for logo etc?

Is the above icon simply a mock up? looks cool. If gradient is the base colour palette for the logo/identity that would be something really unique. If you tilted your device and the logo sparkled in response to the orientation of tablet/device how delightful a surprise that would be to the user. Small touches that are exciting for the user to discover on their own. Holographic foil effect that moves as you scroll down the website may be overkill, but a subtle movement, would be really nice.
