Baithak - Challenging Taboos:

→ about the project:

Baithak – Challenging Taboos is a women-led, community-driven grassroots organization dedicated to improving reproductive health access and promoting gender equity throughout Pakistan. The organization reached out to me to design a comprehensive profile brochure that could be distributed at events and effectively convey Baithak’s vision, story, and impact to global partners and stakeholders. They required a profile that would resonate with both local communities and international partners, ensuring it was visually accessible to grassroots audiences while maintaining a professional tone for donors. The goal was to create a piece that not only clearly communicated their mission but also visually embodied the essence of community, resilience, and solidarity that characterizes Baithak’s work.

→ my role: I was hired as a Visual Communication Designer to create Baithak’s organizational profile brochure for events and partnerships. My approach was to use brand colors, community imagery, and textured visuals to reflect Baithak’s grassroots identity and make the design the core representation piece of their work. **

*The final design was launched during Baithak’s international event presence, becoming their go-to representation piece and ***helped unify their visual identity.

→ my design process: I conducted a mini-audit of their existing social and print material to identify visual inconsistencies and tone gaps. I also reviewed audience profiles from community members to international NGOs to ensure the profile would resonate across contexts. I chose muted red textures to convey resistance and solidarity, contrasted with grayscale imagery to emphasize the lived realities of the women Baithak works with. The bold sans-serif type mirrored their unapologetic voice.

→ This project strengthened my ability to design for intersectional audiences balancing advocacy storytelling with institutional communication.
