So you should have gotten an email that said we do not duplicate any of your VA benefits. They will handle things for you while you're living, like your medical, disability, home loan & GI Bill. But the VSO’s handle everything else for you and your family after. So all of your burial benefits, estate planning, and your life insurance.

Short answer, no given that you don’t qualify. I know it’s a lot of information, so I’ll go over everything with you then.
So because you served our country you're entitled to some prequalified benefits which will be your Will & Testament and Burial guide that are taken care of at no cost to you. Now you will also have access to your veterans permanent burial benefits. Those are not free, however, that is something you would have to qualify for so I am not sure if I would be able to go over that with you. (back on script)

(if still confused): Even though you're a veteran there will still be some out of pocket costs that your family will be responsible for when you pass away. My job is to review with you what the VA pays for and what the VA does not pay for because unfortunately they don’t pay for everything, which is exactly why the VSO’s fill in the GAPS that the VA Does not cover for Veterans. IF ACTIVE DUTY - Now (NAME), what is great about doing this while you are still on Active Duty, is because at the end of your service you are going through an exiting process and that is where you are going to fight for the disability that you want and deserve. The challenge is when you do that, it makes it more difficult to get the Veteran benefits that you are entitled to. So that is why it is really important to get this taken care of NOW, so that you can go and get the VA disability rating you deserve.
