This work begins with the message from the SPECULATION collection’s piece MYO_ Don’t Let It Thaw! I wanted to give visual form to the weight and tone of that message, and I added the symbolism of the “Black Swan,” which shares a resonance with its core meaning. The Black Swan represents an event that seems impossible to occur, yet when it does, it brings immense shock and far-reaching consequences. Through this work, I wished to express the importance of being mindful of such possibilities. In the image, a Black Swan awakens from sleep and, through its eyes in the darkness, conveys the message of MYO_ Don’t Let It Thaw!

Of course, I do not mean that we should live in constant fear or anxiety over what might happen, for such things will eventually occur in their own time. Everyone deserves the right to live joyfully and happily, and that is what I also hope for. Yet, if each of us could nurture even one daily habit not only for ourselves but also for others—and ultimately for humanity as a whole—perhaps we might delay the arrival of that Black Swan just a little. My hope is that all who live in this moment, and all who will live in the days to come, may enjoy a healthy life within a comfortable and sustaining environment.

메시지의 무게와 어조를 시각화하고자 하였으며, 이 메시지의 핵심과 상통하는 의미를 지닌 ‘검은 백조’의 상징성을 더하였습니다.

일어날 가능성이 전혀 없을 것이라 생각하지만, 막상 발생하게 되면 엄청난 충격과 파장을 불러일으킬 사건에 대해 경각심을 가질 필요가 있다는 생각을 표현하고자 하였습니다.

그래서 잠에서 깨어난 검은 백조가 어둠 속에서 눈을 통해 MYO_ Don't Let It Thaw! 작품의 메시지를 전달하는 이미지를 형상화하였습니다.

물론, 일어날 일은 언젠가는 결국 일어나고야 말 것이며, 언제 일어날지 모를 그러한 일에 대해 매순간 전전긍긍하며 사는 것을 바라지는 않습니다.

누구나 자신의 삶을 즐겁고 행복하게 살아갈 권리가 있고, 저 역시 그것을 바라는 바입니다.

다만, 누구에게나 있는 일상의 습관 중 한 가지라도 자신을 위해서가 아니라 타인을 위해, 더 나아가 인류를 위한 것이 되는 습관을 하나씩이라도 실천해 나간다면, 그러한 검은 백조가 등장하는 시기를 조금이라도 늦출 수 있지 않을까요?

지금 이 순간을 살아가는 모든 이들과 앞으로의 날들을 살아가게 될 모든 이들이 부디 쾌적한 환경 속에서 건강하게 살아갈 수 있길 바랍니다.
