Neal Figueroa is a conductor and composer, whose work bridges the worlds of storytelling and orchestral performance. Informed by a two-decade career as a musician and collaborator, his approach focuses on fostering a supportive environment that supports and empowers other artists.
Serving as musical director for over 60 musicals throughout the United States, Neal has worked alongside performers such as Tony Award nominee Catherine Cox (Baby), Jacob Brent (Cats), Analisa Leaming (Hello, Dolly!, The King and I), Travis Greisler (The Cher Show), and Damon Gillespie (Newsies, NBC’s Rise). His diverse sensibility informs a directorial style that lifts the musical narrative off of the page to create a richly layered experience for audiences and performers alike.
In his role as founder and artistic director of The Pocket Philharmonic, Neal leads an ensemble specializing in intimate and immersive orchestral experiences. Under his leadership, the ensemble focuses on high-impact, flexible programming that adapts symphonic works for intimate settings, aiming to break down barriers and make orchestral music accessible to audiences of all ages.
Neal holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Berklee College of Music. He currently resides in Colorado, where he continues to develop new orchestral arrangements and lead community-focused musical initiatives.
