BetterCart ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy.This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and store information when you use the BetterCart app ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and, optionally, your name and email from Apple.

Food Diary & Nutrition Data

We store the food entries, meals, calorie and macro logs, and diary entries you create in the App. This data is stored locally on your device and, if you are signed in, synced to our secure cloud database.

Weight Log

Weight entries you add are stored locally on your device and associated with your account.

Scan History

Products you scan are saved locally on your device for your personal reference.

Camera & Photos

The App requests access to your camera and photo library solely to scan barcodes and analyse food product images. We do not store or share your photos. Images sent for AI analysis are processed and immediately discarded.

Voice Input

If you use Voice Log, your voice input is processed on-device by Apple's Speech framework. We do not record or store your voice.

Device Information

We may collect basic diagnostic information (such as app version and operating system) to improve the App. We do not collect your name, location, or contact list.
