Who can get residency in Bulgaria?

In general, getting a residency when you have an EU passport is easy. Non-EU members need to get a work visa or permanent residency first. By law, you have to be physically present in Bulgaria for at least half of the year or be able to prove this to your local tax authorities to qualify.

Once you have an apartment and you have setup your company, you need to go to the immigration office to apply for residency. The one nearest to Bansko is RDVR Blagoevgrad:

ul. "Vlado Chernozemski" 3, 2700 Blagoevgrad Center, Blagoevgrad

The owner and your translator (this can be a friend or someone who speaks both Bulgarian and English) need to be present at the notary office when signing the lease.
