Basilisk triggers every time you rescue an animal that increases your Zoo Completion. Therefore, you can use trading to your advantage. You can choose not to do quest at all, so as to have Basilisk trigger full value.

Let’s use 2 player as an example:

Player 1 Player 2 Note
Unique common animals 50 50
Unique rare animals 50 50
Common animals with amounts 2 or greater 25 25 The animals must be entirely different from each other

When you rescue an animal that you have 1 of, put that animal in a list. Same goes for the other player. When both players are free, trade your listed animals with the other’s listed animals, so that you will always have 25 ones.

Note: “ones” mean animals that you have 1 of.

By trading with other members or using the stash, you could have pseudo-ones. Instead of only having 25 ones, you may have 26 ones, which increases the chance of Basilisk to trigger from 50% to 52%.

Clover and Magnifying Glass also help increases the chance of Basilisk to trigger.

The setup can be expanded to more than 2 players. In fact, the more players participating in this setup, the better. Here’s a 3 player setup.

Player 1 Player 2 Player 3
Unique common animals 50 50 50
Unique rare animals 50 50 50
Common animals with amounts 2 or greater 17 17 16

The chances of Basilisk triggering is now 66%, whereas for 2 player setup it was 50%.

For a 3 player setup, you need to make sure you are trading your ones to the member who controls those animals.

Note: “control” means to have animals with amounts 2 or greater.
