Harrow School, a renowned British public school, is reported to be in discussions to establish an international school in the Incheon Free Economic Zone. The Incheon authorities are considering locating this school on the site of the 2nd International School in Songdo.
Founded in 1572, Harrow School has produced numerous famous politicians and scholars, including British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, poet Lord Byron, and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Since 1998, it has operated 12 branches across Asia, starting with Bangkok and expanding to Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and other cities.
Although Harrow School's main campus is traditionally an all-boys school, the Incheon branch is expected to operate as a co-educational institution.
Songdo International City is anticipated to evolve into a prominent global education district with existing foreign universities such as the State University of New York, George Mason University, University of Utah, Ghent University, and FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) along with ongoing efforts to attract additional foreign universities on its two global campuses.
