School Profile

Beijing BISS International School was established in 1994 and is the first international school authorized by the Beijing Education Bureau.

It offers ESOL and CSL programs and follows the British and American education systems. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is an associate member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). BISS has an excellent faculty, including teachers from the United States, Canada, Australia, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, China, the Philippines, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. They hold degrees and have years of experience in international education. The school is equipped with over 30 classrooms, a library, music room, science labs, computer labs, art room, gymnasium, and medical facilities. Currently, around 400 students from over 50 countries are enrolled in the school.

Curriculum

Kindergarten

• This program is designed for preschool children and is taught by homeroom teachers, assistant teachers, and music teachers.
• Subjects include language, numbers, art, science, social studies, and music.

Year 1-5

• Homeroom teachers and assistant teachers conduct English, math, science, and social studies classes.
• There are separate teachers for music, physical education, and Chinese.
• In the 5th grade, art classes are added.

Year 6-12

• Subjects include math, English, science, social studies, computer, information technology, art, music, physical education, Chinese, and language enhancement classes.
• There are homeroom teachers, and specialized teachers conduct the classes.
