Overview
The Backups section allows users to view and manage daily backups of their monitored n8n installations. Backups are generated automatically every day at 06:00 AM CET and cover the current calendar month.
Accessing the Backups Section
- Log in to your n8n dashboard.
- Navigate to Activity → Backups.
- The Backups panel displays at a glance:
- A brief description of the backup schedule.
- Countdown timer until the next backup.
Header

- Title: Backups
- Description: Indicates that backups are created daily at 06:00 AM CET and applies only to monitored installations.
- Countdown Timer: Shows time remaining until the next scheduled backup.
Filters Toolbar

The filters toolbar lets you narrow down displayed backup entries. It includes three dropdowns and a clear button:
- Filter by Period
- Options:
- Today
- Yesterday
- This week
- Last week
- This month
- Last month
- This quarter
- Last quarter
- This year
- Last year
- Use to restrict backups to a specific time range.
- Filter by Installation
- Options:
- All
- A list of your monitored installation IDs and names.
- Select an installation to view only its backup history.
- Filter by Changes
- Options:
- Use "Only Changes" to show backups that include workflow modifications.
- Clear Filters
- Button to reset all filters to their default (All) selections.
