One of the most asked questions I get is about the gear I use to create.
While I use a professional mirrorless setup, I honestly believe you can capture incredible images with just a phone. Gear is simply a tool to help execute your Style Blueprint. This is the setup I’ve accumulated over the years from running a production studio.
Cameras
- Sony A7IV: My primary workhorse for cinematic car edits and brand work.
- iPhone 17 Pro / 14 Pro: Perfect for raw lifestyle content and "on-the-go" BTS.
Lenses
- 24-70mm f2.8: This lens stays on my camera "all the way!" It is the most versatile focal range for automotive and lifestyle content.
- 16-35mm: My go-to for ultra-wide perspectives and tight interior car shots.
Filters
- CPL (Circular Polarizer): Essential for automotive work. It allows you to cut through glare and unwanted reflections on car paint and glass.
- 1/4 Black Pro Mist: I use this on the front of my lenses to give the image a softer look by blooming the highlights.
- Variable ND Filter: This allows me to keep my shutter speed double my frame rate even in bright daylight.
Rigging & Support
- Suction Cups & Magic Arms: Used for stable, high-speed POV car shots.
- C-Stand with Tripod Head: Essential for super high angles or perfectly stable overhead lifestyle shots.
- SmallRig Tripod: For standard stable shots and long exposures.
Editing
- DaVinci Resolve: Used for all professional color grading and final delivery.
