Students are welcome to miss school for any reason, even taking short or extended trips anytime throughout the school year. We also encourage students to take part in community events or experiences that might cause them to miss school.

Because Wilderland’s school model is based on personalized learning of all subjects that require linear progression (math and reading) and group activities that are more thematic and generalized, students will not “miss” any education that is critical to their academic progress.

Depending on the length of their absences, students may choose to continue their course of study at home based on the goals they set themselves at Wilderland. Because there is no traditional homework or testing at Wilderland, students will not have to make up any coursework or exams.
