Atenea is a pivotal character and an ally of Halia. Just as she helped her father in the battle against the giants in the past, she will now aid Halia and Zeus in their new endeavor.
She is the goddess of war, civilization, wisdom, combat strategy, sciences, justice, and skill. As one of the principal divinities, she belongs to the twelve Olympian gods. Atenea leads Halia to the island guarded by Poseidon. Her parents are Zeus and Metis.
The story of her birth appears in various versions, but the most well-known one recounts that after Zeus swallowed Metis, he experienced a strong and oppressive headache. Overwhelmed and practically incapacitated by the pain, Zeus sought help from Hephaestus, the god of fire and forge, who used an axe to split open his head. From this opening emerged Athena, already an adult woman dressed in armor.
However, there is also a myth stating that Athena is the daughter of Poseidon and the nymph Tritonis. Nonetheless, Athena refuses to believe this version as she is the favorite daughter of Zeus. The armor, helmet, shield, and other objects commonly used by the goddess actually belong to Zeus.
Athena was Zeus' favorite child among all his offspring, which is why the king of gods not only lends her his belongings but also usually gives her less severe punishments compared to other gods. Therefore, amid the rivalry between Poseidon and Zeus, Athena takes Zeus' side and harbors some resentment towards Poseidon.
