How ReadTheory Works…
Our program is an adaptive reading comprehension program. Students logging in for the first time will complete an eight-question pretest to determine their reading level. Once completed, our platform auto-assigns passages according to their ability.
The teacher also can assign activities to their students using our Activities feature. Read below on how to set one up in your classroom!
Recurring Weekly Activities - Create Structure for Your Classroom
A recurring activity gives teachers control over how many quizzes they wish their students to complete each week. Teachers can assign a recurring activity for their students under the ‘Activities’ tab within their teacher account. Follow the steps below to get started!
- To assign a recurring weekly activity, navigate to your Activities homepage and select “Create New Activity.”
- Select “Recurring Activity.” It will be highlighted in blue.

- Premium teachers can customize and set the assignment's requirements. You can select students/classes, the number of passages, and the timeframe. Please note that on the basic version of our site, this will auto-set to five passes per week, Monday through Sunday EST, and these parameters cannot be changed.

- To begin the activity, students must log into their account, navigate to their My Progress tab, and select “Start Activity and then “Start Now.”

- Students' progress will appear on your activities page as they complete the assignment.

- The recurring assignments you create will automatically be made again each week, so you can set them once and then forget them.
