Absolutely makes sense. I don’t need any clarifications. Below is a from-scratch, reproducible install guide written for someone who may be technical but not living in the terminal every day.
I’ll assume:
- macOS
- Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4)
- Fresh-ish machine
- No Homebrew
- No Python tooling expectations
- Goal: drop audio → get transcript → optional WordPress draft
I’ll be explicit and boring on purpose. This is what makes it survivable.

0. What You’re Installing (Mental Model First)
Before commands, here’s what this system does:
- Watches a folder for audio files
- Converts audio to WAV if needed
- Transcribes using native Metal GPU (whisper.cpp)
- Writes a .txt transcript
- Optionally publishes a WordPress draft if spoken intent is detected
