Note: Please work very hard to keep this move FLAT and not tilted!! Your flag should be level at all times, not hitting the floor or yourself.
- Begin thumbs up, and move your flag to your right/clockwise. As your flag is moving, your right hand is going to slide down the flag, away from the tape. On 1 (0:03), your flag should be pointing down away from you and your right hand is going to be very close to where your left is on the bottom pole cap.
- On 2, flag should be pointed “up”/ silk should be by your head. To get to 2 can be challenging for some: to keep spinning your flag, your wrists are going to be moving VERY unusually when doing this move. On 1, your flag is pointing down by your feet. You keep moving your flag clockwise, and as your flag starts to come to your left side, your left wrist (which is on the bottom of the flag) will need to come under your right arm as it’s moving the flag. Watch (0:03-0:05) on my video to see what I am talking about. During this move, your wrists and hands will be moving/twisting/contorting around the pole, without ever releasing the flag from your grasp. Do not release the flag with either hand or the move will be done incorrectly.
3 Flag will be facing back down towards your feet. You will have completed it’s spin and your right hand will move back to the tape as to steady the flag to keep it from overshooting. You also will bring the flag as close to you as possible without it touching you.
4 You know are going to quickly unwind your flag by going counterclockwise and pushing your flag with your left hand. On 4 flag will be unwinding and pointing up.

Counts 4 and 5 (toss on 5)
5 As your flag is approaching the point where it points down/away from you. You will dip your flag closer to your body to prep for tossing the flag above you. On 5, push the flag up quickly and with a lot of power.
6 Flag is above you spinning
7 Catch flag on 6.5/7 with your left hand thumbs down and unwind it
8 Flag returned to ready position
