You may be reading this because you’re in a rut. Write about it.

That may seem like a stupid thing to broadcast to the world. After all, who are you? A jovian celebrity? Doesn’t matter. It is technically feasible to write about your life once in a while knowing that people won't read any of that and you, somehow, still get a public outlet to vent and share where your life currently is headed. If you’ve got a lot of readers, just write it anyway and publish somewhere else, but do it! It alleviates you of the internal tension and makes it seem like you’ve let go– of something.

For better or worse you cannot always conduct your emotions to your convenience and may end up giving in to the human tendencies of love, hate, anger, and whatnot that keep you from the bigger things in life, like working 24x7 on that sick new idea for once. Instead of letting those emotions subside and getting back to work, you may react to them and fall deeper into the abyss.

As Ellen Glasgow once said,

The only difference between a rut and a grave are the dimensions.

Hence, it's not that easy to get out of a rut the way it's not easy to get out of a grave if you were to be buried alive. However, you can still try and pull yourself because again, the dimensions are in your favor and sometimes they make all the difference.
