Main Text:
1 Kings 2:2
Opening Worship:
The meeting began with a rich atmosphere of worship, thanksgiving, and adoration unto God. The church magnified the Lord as the unchanging Ancient of Days, the Rock upon which we stand, the Pillar that holds our lives, and the breath within us each day. Songs of praise and surrender filled the meeting, exalting Jesus as wonderful, worthy, and glorious. There was also strong thanksgiving for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, with repeated acknowledgement that He alone was raised directly by God, and that through His resurrection we have been raised unto life, honour, wisdom, health, fruitfulness, favour, and advancement.
Opening Prayer:
Pastor Abbie led the opening prayer session. She thanked God for the gift of life, His mercy, faithfulness, and preservation over the church and families. She asked for mercy where there had been shortcomings, prayed that the blood of Jesus would speak better things over everyone, and declared deliverance, freedom, mercy, protection, and victory over every oppression. She also thanked God for the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead and declared that believers are raised together with Him unto life, honour, fruitfulness, divine health, peace, prosperity, wisdom, holiness, favour, and good success. She further prayed for the protection of families, the fulfillment of destiny by the children, growth and expansion for the church, and fresh strength, grace, and protection over Pastor Stephen.
Exhortation / Charge:
Pastor Kosh welcomed everyone and encouraged the church again to give themselves seriously to prayer and devotion, describing prayer as one of the most potent spiritual forces on earth. He stressed that believers must live daily to glorify God, walk in His plans, and fulfill divine purpose. He also prayed for members who were travelling during the holiday season, asking for journey mercies, divine covering, and safe return.
The main exhortation was taken from 1 Kings 2:2 with the theme: “Lord, Help Me to Show What I Am Made Of.” Pastor explained that David’s charge to Solomon — to be strong and show what he was made of — was a call to maturity, courage, responsibility, obedience, and spiritual expression. He emphasized that there comes a time in life when excuses must end and what God has deposited in a person must begin to manifest. He taught that when pressure, opposition, responsibility, or difficult decisions arise, believers must not collapse in fear, but must demonstrate the strength, wisdom, and grace God has already put within them.
He further explained that showing what one is made of includes obeying God, walking in His paths, following His instructions, and making the right decisions when it matters most. Solomon was used as the example: after David’s charge, Solomon showed what he was made of not by outward display, but by loving the Lord, walking according to God’s instructions, and asking for the right thing — wisdom to lead God’s people. Pastor stressed that God gives people the power of choice, and many outcomes in life are tied to the decisions they make. He therefore urged the church to ask God for grace to make right decisions, especially in this month of April.
He concluded with the strong New Covenant emphasis that, for believers today, what they are made of is Christ Himself. Therefore, believers must refuse to live below what God has put inside them.
