1. Overview
AppointmentSMS ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to send SMS appointment reminders by emailing carrier SMS gateways via their Gmail account. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The Extension is designed to operate with the minimum data necessary to perform its core function.
2. Data We Access
The Extension accesses the following information:

- The Extension uses Google OAuth 2.0 to obtain a limited access token scoped exclusively to the gmail.send permission.
- This token allows the Extension to send emails on your behalf to carrier SMS gateways (e.g., number@vtext.com).
- The Extension does not read, scan, index, or store any emails from your Gmail inbox.
Spreadsheet Data
- When you upload an Excel or CSV file, the Extension reads its contents locally in your browser to extract names, phone numbers, and appointment times.
- This data is processed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded to any server or third party.
Extension Settings
- Your message template, subject line, blast mode preference, and Gmail email address are saved locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API.
- This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted externally.
