Our project’s aim is to better understand how XR use influences interest, social connectedness, and behavioral change in environmental protection, sustainability and space awareness. We explore the following research questions:

To answer our questions, our theoretical framework draws on the Technology Acceptance Model and the theory of Flow. We incorporate the O-S-O-R Model (Orientations–Stimulus–Orientations–Response), which explains how audiences are not universally and automatically influenced by an intervention or stimulus (McLeod et al., 1996). Instead, it underscores the role of demographics and predispositions (O1), as background factors that influence the next step (S), in this case participating in the Immersive Exhibition, Eyes on the Sky. This intervention then influences outcome orientations (O2), which in turn influence behavioral responses (R). See Table 1.
