In the bewitching realm of Aphrodite, Halia awakens to find Zeus engaged in conversation with the goddess. Unable to hear their exchange, she becomes the focus of their attention when they notice her awakening. Zeus hopes that Aphrodite can quell Halia's suspicions, but the capricious goddess sees an opportunity to ensnare both Zeus and Halia, further destabilizing Zeus and Hera's relationship. Aphrodite, whose affections are intertwined with Ares, feels scorned by him due to his allegiance to Cronos, which has led him to gravitate toward Hera. Driven by jealousy, Aphrodite seeks to rekindle Zeus's attention.
Aphrodite's husband, Hephaestus, the god of the forge, is renowned for his skill in crafting. Zeus reveals to Halia that their presence in the city is to supply the armorer with more tools and materials to forge new weapons. Meanwhile, Zeus ascends to Olympus to confront Hades about Cronos's escape from Tartarus, seeking an alliance with the god of the underworld. At the same time, Halia visits Hephaestus and becomes intrigued by a scythe in his forge. When asked for a personal item in exchange for the weapon, she holds her necklace and experiences a flashback of a conversation with Mnemosyne. Hephaestus then creates her principal weapon, one that can harness her titanic power. Struck by a sense of familiarity, Halia inquires about a similar weapon he forged in the past and begins investigating the city to discover its current whereabouts.
Seeking a way to augment her power more swiftly, Halia consults the historian, who shares a legend about an island in the midst of the ocean—an island that played a pivotal role in the origin of Poseidon's kingdom. Intrigued by this idea, she shares it with Zeus, who suggests seeking counsel from Athena, the goddess of wisdom. He believes that aside from Poseidon, Athena would be the only one who might know if such an island truly exists. As Halia delves deeper into the threads of her destiny, she must navigate the intricate webs woven by gods and goddesses, balancing her own quest for power and knowledge with the shifting allegiances and desires that shape the world of the divine.
