Animals are a primary part of zoo and increasing your animal count is arguably the goal of Zoo overall. You can rescue an animal (or rarely a pair of animals) using /rescue every 6 hours, being one of the most consistent and easy ways to obtain animals.

Being one of the main elements of Zoo, a lot of other mechanics revolve around or involve animals to some degree. Leaders, for example, can only be attracted by amassing large quantities of animals.
