🎯 Why This Template Exists

Traditional escalation assumes you have a clear problem and recommendation:

• "We discovered X, recommend Y, need your approval"

Gray-zone escalation is different. You're escalating ambiguity itself:

• Not because something's wrong
• Not because you failed to reach certainty
• But because the judgment call requires authority or context you don't have

Most organizations don't have language for this. So people either:

• Don't escalate (make the call themselves and hope it works)
• Escalate everything (creating executive bottlenecks)
• Freeze (waiting for certainty that won't come)

This template makes ambiguity escalation legitimate.
