Latest gVent Alarms

Notes:

• 1: INFO / NOTICE 2: WARNING 3: ALERT 4: ALARM 5: CRITICAL

• CRITICAL: Anything related to power or device failure are top-level alarms (ALA1, ALA13, ALA15, ALA16)

• ALARM: Pressure and flow related alarms, which are safety-critical sensor readings, without which the control system could malfunction in an unsafe or unspecified manner.

• Note: Leak (ALA17) and flow sensor errors (ALA16) appear the same if we use the method of testing of comparison between the inspiratory and expiratory flow sensors. I.e. a leak will appear as a flow sensor divergence.

• In VentOS alarm documentation, they refer to ALA15 and ALA16 as Pressure / Flow Sensor Divergence

  Flow sensor divergence (fault, miscalibration, or lead). Dependant on the time this is averaged over.

Alarm Requirements Comparison

For every alarm, we will

• sound the buzzer
• light the alarm LED
• display the type of alarm to the screen

Except, in the case of a power failure:

• sound the buzzer
• light the "power failure" LED
• (screen will have lost power)
