During your stay

Air conditioning and heating

All of our apartments feature central air conditioning and heating. Some also include ceiling fans. Our thermostats are typically set to 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22.2 degrees celsius), but you may adjust this to a comfortable level.

You will need to select Cool or Heat and then use the arrows to adjust the temperature, and then press the HOLD button (if available).

The FAN setting must alway to set to Auto. Switching the FAN to On can increase the humidity and lead to a malfunction of the HVAC unit.

Air conditioning must not be switched off during hot months to prevent any humidity damage.

Troubleshooting

Please note that the effectiveness of an AC system will depend in part on the exterior temperature. On very hot days, the AC will not be able to cool as much as on a mild day.

If you want a cooler temperature (e.g. 70 degrees), there is no need to set the AC to 60 degrees - it will not cool any faster than if you set it to 70 degrees.

If the AC is not cooling to your desired temperature after a few hours, please let us know the temperature it has been set to and the interior temperature. Please note that the building’s maintenance team is only usually available during business hours Monday to Friday. There may be some emergency out of hours coverage if there is an HVAC failure during times of extreme heat or cold.

Conserving energy

Please be mindful of keeping doors and windows closed to conserve energy - just adjusting the temperature by a few degrees can have a large impact on your electrical consumption. We also recommend that you switch on the ceiling fans to help with cooling, as this can contribute to energy savings.
