An agent provocateur is someone who is deliberately planted—usually by a government, police force, or other authority—into a group (often activist, political, or protest-oriented) to incite them to act illegally or violently. The goal is often to discredit the group, justify arrests, or gather intelligence.

Sometimes, they push for extreme actions that the group wouldn’t normally take, essentially setting them up for a crackdown. The term comes from French and literally means "provoking agent."

For me this has looked like people lending me firearms after I received a death threat, only for people to act like they broke into my place to take pictures of them.

People going to the dispensery and “forgetting to bring their wallet” so you buy stuff for them. That or bumming it off you and trying to pay you then or later.

A friend of mine named Dante encouraged me over the phone via double speak to try and burn down my house when my exwife was refusing to sign sales paperwork. Going so far as to give instructions on how to short a battery to make it look like an accident.

My brother encouraged me to self harm to try and remove implants while talking about warts as a ploy to get me committed.

People are not looking out for you best interest if they encourage you to break the law. They are trying to trap you at the behest of law enforcement.
