The Visual Dependencies app allows you to define how many levels of work item dependencies are displayed on the map. It helps you control the level of detail and avoid visual overload when working with large or cross-project processes.

The core logic is building dependencies level by level from the current work item. There are three types of depth:

• Depth 1: shows only directly linked work items (first-level connections).
• Depth 2: includes the work items linked to the first-level ones.
• Depth 3 and more: continues expanding the chain, revealing deeper dependencies in your map.

This is aimed at navigating complex relationships gradually and focusing only on the information you need.

How this feature works?

You can find the Depth control as a slider above your dependency map. Move the slider to increase or decrease how many levels of linked issues you want to visualize:

• Drag left to simplify the view and show only the most relevant dependencies.
• Drag right to expand and explore more work items.

💡Use Case: Focus on structure within an Epic

If you open an Epic, you’ll see various results according to the Depth value:

• Level 1: Child work items to the Epic (plus related work items to the Epic if they were added)

• Level 2: Sub-tasks linked to those Child work items (plus related work items to the Child work items if they were added)
