Overview

This is a fancy of way saying products with more than one option.

For example, if you sell bread, you can ask customers to specify if it’s Sliced or Unsliced.

For books, Hard or Softback etc, each with its stock numbers (if you want to use this).

First off, create or edit the product you wish to add variants to.

All products are ‘Simple Product’ by default, one price, one item, simples.

  1. Change the drop-down box from Simple Product to Variable Product.

  2. Click on the Attributes tab,

click Add,

Add a name into ‘Name’

(we have called ours ‘Type’)

  1. Then add the values into the text box on the right separate by the pipe ‘|’ character.

We have added Hardback and Softback.

  1. Tick the Used for variations box (the next step won’t work until you do this!)
