You can add calendar invites as an attachment to your Emails. In order to do it, you'll need to upload this calendar ivite as an asset.
Go to Components > Assets and click +New.
Just add a title and drag and drop in your file:

The ics format is not supported out of the box, we need to set it up. Don't worry, it will be just a minute. Go to: Settings > Configuration > Asset Settings.
Here you can add the file extension you want:
Save it and head back to the Assets.
Now you can upload it witout a problem:
Now you can add this asset to your email as an attachment. Open your email:
The attachments can be found in the 'Advanced tab' when you edit your emails:
Now you are able to choose an asset from the download:
