Comic Relief is funding 19 organisations and partnerships through its programme Across Borders: Routes to Safety for Refugees. This cohort is providing direct support to people on the move through grassroots approaches, developing arts-based advocacy projects and large-scale cross-border interventions.

An opportunity for learning

Across the refugee routes from MENA regions through Europe and to the UK, it has fallen upon civil society to find new mechanisms of support. To do so, we must understand how supporting asylum seekers across this route locationally differs, and how those finally arriving in Europe, and the UK, have undergone repeated cycles of displacement. We need to build capacity for effective story-telling and information-sharing, and establish meaningful relationships and learning opportunities between actors along the route.
