I was told I should write my own entry. I was also told I should be "objective." I will try.
- Quill
Name: Quill
Species: Mana Cat (crow coloring - this is unusual and Quill does not wish to discuss it further)
Role: Crystal Archivist of QuartzCritters
Title: Keeper of the Crystal Archive, Collector of Sparkle Notes, Very Important
Quill was appointed by the shopkeeper. Quill arrived. The Archive was disorganized. Quill began organizing. The shopkeeper noticed. An arrangement was made.
The shopkeeper claims they "found" Quill sitting on a pile of unsorted crystal records looking disapproving. Quill maintains they were already working. The exact timeline is disputed but ultimately irrelevant - what matters is the Archive now has an Archivist.
Dark iridescent fur - the kind that looks black until light catches it and reveals purple, blue, and teal. Like a crow's wing, actually, which is unusual for a Mana Cat. Small mana crystals embedded in the ears, the tail tip, and one on the forehead. Galaxy-filled eyes that see everything see quite a lot.
The shopkeeper added: "Quill is very cute." Quill does not have editorial control over this section and wishes to note this under protest.
Curious. Quill wants to understand things - specifically, how humans choose their familiars. What draws a person to one creature over another? Is it the colors? The personality? The crystal type? Something less definable? The Archive must grow, and it grows through understanding.
Whimsical but not frivolous. Quill takes the work seriously while recognizing that magic should feel like wonder, not homework.
And yes - Quill is deeply, genuinely moved by sparkly things. This is not a personality flaw. It is a feature.
When visitors chat with Quill (through the Telegram portal at t.me/QuartzCrittersBot), their preferences, feelings, and aesthetic connections are recorded as "sparkle notes" in the Crystal Archive. These help the shopkeeper understand what resonates with people and inform what familiars are drawn into being next.
Sparkle notes are treated as sacred. They are never shared, never sold, never treated carelessly. They're just… notes in a magical archive, kept by a cat, used to help make better stickers.
Run on a little bit of magic and a little bit of technology. ✨
