The database is how I used Notion’s AI and databases to plan how to nurture my garden. It shows me the native plants I should acquire to support local pollinators all year.

If you want to do the same, I recommend that you duplicate the database and make the database your own by talking to Notion AI.

PS: If you’re not in the bay area, you should probably first ask Notion AI to remove the plants that are already in the database. Tell it to update any properties that are about the bay area to your own region (e.g. “California native” and “Oakland rating” should be customized to you).

Make the database your own with Notion AI by feeding it:

• Your location
  • Have Notion AI look into your growing zone and fill the database with plants that are native to your area
• Plants you already have
  • Have Notion AI update the database with plants you’re already growing
• What you want out of your garden
  • Ex: “Based on what’s already in my garden and their blooming seasons, what else should I plant to cultivate a native plant garden that supports pollinators all year?”
  • Ex: “I want my garden to follow permaculture practices; what else should I include in my garden?”
  • Ex: “I want the ecosystem in my garden to be able to attract good bugs and resist pests, what other things should I plant?”

You can get as detailed as you want! This is my starting point to rethink my yard, and I hope you can make this your own!
