Exploring the healing power of the voice,
Vocal Therapist & Singer-Songwriter
Anita Baek is a singer-songwriter, jazz vocalist, and vocal therapist who sings of life with a warm, deeply resonant voice, while guiding others to discover the healing power and potential of their own voice. She began her musical journey in the early 2000s as the vocalist of a folk band. During her undergraduate years, she directed and performed in music theater works with social themes, gaining multifaceted artistic experience by planning performances and workshops.
After a decade of intense searching between a professional career and music, she reached a turning point in 2014 when she pursued graduate studies in music therapy. During this time, she made her debut as a jazz vocalist on major live jazz club stages in Korea, and continued to expand her artistic boundaries through collaborations with artists across improvisational music, dance, visual art, and theater.
In 2021, she released the jazz single I’ve Grown Accustomed to His Face, marking eight years of her musical journey. Her interpretation of this well-known jazz standard, enriched with her own delicate sensibility, was featured and recommended by Melon and Genie Magazine, introducing her more widely to the public. In 2022, she contributed vocals to the track “Amen” from jazz saxophonist Seo Bokyung’s EP Warmth of Kindness, further broadening her musical spectrum alongside notable contemporary jazz musicians. In 2024, she established herself as a singer-songwriter with her first original single Todak Todak, a gentle ballad conveying messages of deep self-understanding and love.
Her academic exploration of how music affects the body and mind led her to a clear direction: “voice healing,” centered on listening to one’s own voice. Based on her professional training from the Graduate School of Music Therapy at Ewha Womans University, she currently runs Anita’s Voice Healing studio in Jamsil, Seoul. Through her unique approach, “Voice Yoga,” which perceives the voice as energy, she practices vocal therapy that helps relax the nervous system through vibration and resonance, guiding individuals to fully embrace their own voice—and ultimately, themselves.
On stage, Anita Baek offers comfort through sincere and heartfelt songs, while in educational settings, she becomes a guide who helps others discover the potential within their voices. Through her music and teaching, she continues to share the warmth and power of the human voice, faithfully capturing the beautiful moments of life.
