I’m Riya (she/her), a 21-year-old from Dallas, TX 🤠 freezing in Champaign, IL ☃️. In general, I love singing 🎤, playing tennis 🎾, and doing yoga 🧘🏻♀️. After spending a summer in Seattle, I've fallen in love with hiking 🥾!
I'm very passionate about diversity and positive social impact within technology. I hope to leverage my technical knowledge, leadership skills, and user-empathy to create meaningful products with intention to improve human wellbeing.
Technical interests: Product Management, Software Engineering, Web Development, Natural Language Processing, and Human Computer Interaction
Previously, I was a Technical Chair for Illinois WCS 👩🏻💻, one of my favorite leadership roles I’ve ever held. I was heavily involved in organizing and leading Code Ada, a hackathon for female and non-binary students. I also worked on our Spring semester project cycle (dev-ada) for UIUC's Engineering Open House.
I've been playing with my two kittens: Jupiter and Ceres 😺!
