ARTISTIC STATEMEMT & BIO

Cross iMPact | Penelope Morout is an interdisciplinary dance company founded in 2021 by choreographer and performer Penelope Morout. The company is driven by the belief that dance grows through exchange — between bodies, artistic practices, and ways of thinking — and that choreography can create impact both individually and collectively.

Working across contemporary dance, theatre, music, visual arts, and spatial design and scenography, Cross iMPact develops performances and projects that emerge from collaboration rather than from a single discipline. The body of both performer and spectator is always central, shaping how movement, sound, presence, and designed space are experienced.

The company’s work engages with embodied identity, trauma and memory, and the ways personal experience is shaped by collective history, using dance as a space for dialogue, awareness, and care.

Cross iMPact produces and presents choreographic works by Penelope Morout, including THE BOX: That Dead Space Between Us, EMOTIONAL DOGS, COME HELL OR HIGH WATER (Canada, producer Marynia Fekecz-Mangan), NADEZHDA (world premiere at Teatro de la Danza Guillermina Bravo, CDMX), H.I.I.T. | High-Intensity Identity Training (a self-based choreographic case study), and DOPPELGANGERS (Belgium & Croatia).

Alongside performance, the company develops workshops, educational programs, installations, and digital archives, collaborating with dance schools, universities, and festivals in Greece and internationally.

Cross iMPact aims to support contemporary choreographic creation, encourage exchange between artists and audiences, and contribute to an inclusive and interdisciplinary dance landscape.
