Notes

  1. Conferences
    1. CE
    2. Oral histories; Congruence Text Explorer; CE Data Register; Geospatial work - hold a meeting.
  2. Sense that there are a lot of deadlines coming together at once, a lot of pressure applied across the project and we need to be better at acknowledging those and thinking about the need for all of those deadlines. Particular squeeze around publications, conference, and archiving. Will look at the chapter deadlines and communicate in the meeting later today.
  3. Two paths for archiving. GitHub and Repository. Tim not overly concerned with the formal SMG Repository work as there is money to bring ins SMG Repository support. Would be helpful to have a list of GitHub pages work that indicates progress and development status. Jane to have a conversation with Anna-Maria about this.
  4. Referee feedback:

Boon et al_proposal reviews & response.docx

Generally very positive. Useful recommendations from reviewer 2 about readings, but perhaps some subtle warnings about the speculative nature of some of the work. Interesting comments on the distinction between and place for the technical work. Clearly the technical work will date very fast so it needs to be framed within the context of innovation at the time of innovation. Visualisation and diagrams take work and that shouldn’t be underestimated. Challenges the word emergent and new. Need to reflect on that and how explicitly we link emergence with our action research.

  1. To be discussed next week
  2. AOB
    1. Slavery and Steam workshop. University of York, 26 Sept
