1. Search using a broad keyword in your niche (Example: “Learn Italian”)

Use YouTube Filters:

• Upload Date: This year - Duration: 4–20 minutes - Sort by: View count

Check which videos have significantly more views than others on the same channel. Add them to your list.

2. Explore the channel further:

• Go to “Videos” → “Sort by Popular”
• Identify outlier videos that massively outperformed others.
• What kinds of video ideas seem to be working?

Analyse common patterns:

• Titles (e.g., “How to Learn X on Your Own”, “Master X in Y Days”)
• Thumbnails (e.g., pointing, flags, bold adjectives like “amazing”, colors like yellow/red)
• Add 20–30 strong video ideas to your list.

Now, discover what’s trending in adjacent niches.

- Explore adjacent niches. (Example: If you're in “Learn Italian”, look at “Learn English”)

• Use the same filtering process.
• Look for formats you can adapt to your niche (e.g., “Master English in 30 Days” → “Master Italian in 30 Days”)

With your idea list ready, it’s time to research individual videos more deeply.

Take a promising title (e.g., “If You Know These Words, Your Italian Is Excellent”) Search the exact phrase on YouTube — no filters.

Identify how multiple creators executed that idea:

• Who got high views — and why?
