🌅 Introduction

Do you ever pause to reflect on the intersections that you’ve encountered in your life?

In the introspection, you remind yourself that where you are today is a more a result of a series of small choices than it is the big ones.

In fact, one decision can dramatically alter the trajectory of your life. It can open new doors or close old ones. It can lead to a new friendship, an exciting career path, an opportunity to experience new places, sounds, smells. It can take one small decision to encounter love that will change your life forever.

And yet, we stop ourselves from enjoying life’s endless possibilities because we trick ourselves into believing that the life we're used or told is desirable is how things will or ought to be.

In reality, all it takes is one brief moment of bravery for everything to change. You have more opportunities than you think. All it takes is some bravery to unlock them.

So with that, my question for you this week is:

Where in your life this week can you command a moment of bravery and see where it might take you?

âť“For Your Curiosity

Have you ever stopped and wondered what lessons we are all collectively learning...through movies?

Movies are a window into an alternate reality-an invitation to experience a lesson through the lens of film. Well-made documentaries offer us glimpses into the broad spectrum of what constitutes our reality. No one person can experience everything all the time, but movies give us an opportunity to expand our capacity for experience. They allow us to bypass direct experience while still accessing the feelings of someone else’s perspectives, triumphs, and struggles. Well-crafted fictional movies can also do the same.

If you pay attention and find the carefully and deliberately crafted ones, you will discover that movies are sending you a message. And as a collective, these movies offer us a kind of manual to life.

If you believe that we are here on this Earth to learn something important which will help us reach a higher level of awareness and harmony, then you’ll recognize the possibilities that movies offer us in reaching such awareness.

But even if you are not a believer, wouldn’t you be interested in finding something that would help you attain peace within yourself and with the world? Wouldn’t it be useful to learn to let go of minor irritants, of deep-seated anger, and embrace the challenge of seeking laughter and joy in spite of tragedy, to reach the level that novelist Heinrich Mann alludes to in his statement: “Whoever has cried enough, laughs,” and filmmaker David Lynch claims, “They tell me that there's this all pervading happiness underneath everything, and the more time I spend with them, the more I believe it.”

Yes, an entire database of movie summaries, quotes and wisdom that catalogues movies in a meaningful way actually exists. Check it out here and let me know what some of your favorite movies and documentaries are. I’d love to know what stories have made an impact on your life.

❤️ For Your Heart

The heart is the beginning and the end. It is the first organ developed by a fetus in the mother’s womb and beats before the brain is developed and is may continue beating for several minutes after a body dies.
