<aside> 📖 This guide explains how to create a custom app icon, that lets you open specific Notion page in the app, from your home screen fast ⚡️

❔ If you have any questions about this, ask them here.

To make this easier to do, I've modified a Shortcut from Federico Viticci at Mac Stories, to create a simple version of the shortcut for Notion users.

Guide

First - Download the Shortcuts app from the App Store

If you don't have it already (it's preinstalled on iOS 13 by default), download the app from here.

Add the Shortcut that creates the icon to your available Shortcuts

To use this Shortcut, you'll need to change the your security settings on your phone to allow untrusted shortcuts.

Go to the Settings app —> Shortcuts —> toggle 'Allow Untrusted Shortcuts' to on.

Then download the Shortcut from here, by tapping 'Get Shortcut':

Save your app icon

I wanted to be able to set my app icon with the same emoji that I've used as the page that I'm linking to's icon in Notion.

You can quickly find high quality images of every default emoji here: https://emojipedia.org.

Tap & hold the image of the Apple version of the emoji & choose 'add to photos'.

Get the link to your page

Go to your page in Notion, tap the ••• in the top right hand corner of the page on desktop or the sharing icon in the top right hand corner of the window in the app and choose 'copy page link'.
