Summary:
- Update proposal templates to a format that is more conducive to onchain governance, brevity, and specificity.
- Establish a “general” template that can be used for proposals that do not fit into any category.
Risks:
It will take time for contributors and voters to adapt to the new templates.
What are the changes being proposed?
All proposals will now have 3 sections: Summary, Abstract, and Specification. See DRAFT: General Proposal Template.
What is the goal of this proposal?
The goal of this proposal is to start moving the community in the direction of on-chain governance, while also allowing for more freedom in the types of proposals that are being made.
What is the expected impact of these changes?
- Community members to be familiarized with onchain specifications before an actual transition to onchain governance.
- Allows for new types of proposals to be created by leaving templates more open-ended.
- Encourages informational density.
- Information harvesting could be partially automated with proper templating.
What help might be needed from Juicebox DAO and its members?
The community will need time to adapt to other proposals being in this new format and to writing proposals in this new format.
