I'm Nadia Piet, a yoga practitioner (on and off the mat for 10+ years), student of the philosophy, and 200-hour trained teacher based at NDSM, Amsterdam Noord. I teach hatha and vinyasa with a focus on the nervous system: calming it, and counterbalancing the bodies most of us have now, seated and behind screens.
That focus isn't theoretical. Mental health, and my own history with anxiety, depression and burnout, is what brought me to yoga in the first place. I'm a digital creative the rest of the week, so I know the bodies I'm teaching, and I build flows for them.
For me yoga is both a physical practice and a holistic way of living that brings balance to the body, mind and soul, the effort and the ease, action and inaction, the internal and external, the individual and the universal. It's a gift that keeps on giving, and I'd love to pass it on to anyone that’s open 😊

I loooove putting together a good playlist to carry us through class. Enjoy this one I put together for a 45-min vinyasa flow →

🏕️ Retreats - leading or co-teaching daily practice, wherever you're gathering people. My favourite format: more time, more depth, and a group that arrives ready to slow down.
🧘 Studio classes - hatha or vinyasa, regular slot or sub. I've taught at Rumah and Pllek in Amsterdam Noord.
🎹 Kirtan + chanting - a session of its own: chanting together with harmonium, honouring the universe and synching our voices in community, as people have done since the beginning of time.
🎤 Events, festivals + conferences - movement sessions woven into a programme, as I've done at SOFTER (London) and HEAD (Geneva) alongside speaking. Good for the middle of a long day of sitting and thinking.
👥 1-on-1s - tailored to what you're working with, whether that's starting out, a specific focus area, or coming back from injury or burnout.
🏢 Teams + offices - sessions for people who spend their days at screens, in person or online, as I did through lockdown for colleagues.
Any length works, though 90 minutes is my favourite. I teach in English and Dutch, bring music (and a carefully made playlist), mats for 1-on-1s and small groups, and the harmonium when the location allows. Based in Amsterdam, happy to travel for joyful gatherings and better sun.

NADI SHODHANA PRANAYAM
CALMING THE MIND
As mental health (and my own history with anxiety, depression, and burnout) is what brought me to yoga in the first place, my focus is with the mind-body connection, calming the nervous system, synching with the breath, and balancing the sthiram (power) and sukham (ease) in every movement. I truly believe (because I experienced it) consciously and consistently practicing healing, self-reflection, non-judgement, self-compassion, strength, and yoga philosophy on the mat, can help us integrate and embody these values when we step off the mat 🙂
Yoga Sutra 1.2 ✺ Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodhah = “Yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind”

ASANA
With almost a decade of practice, I have come to find joy and play in physical asana practice and moving my body through space building strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and coordination. I love vinyasa, hatha, and creative surya variations, twisting, opening up, and balancing the body, and synching movement, breath, and mind.
Because I’m a digital creative myself and many of us spend our days seated and behind screens, a lot of my flows target physically counterbalancing the ‘office syndrome’.
I want my classes to be accessible to whoever is in the room - prioritising them feeling good in their bodies and appreciating their discipline to show up. Because I didn’t do any sports throughout my earlier life, I needed a tonnnn of adjustments when I started. While frustrating at the time, I’m now grateful because I know what it’s like not to be able to touch your toes or raise your arms above your head, and how to move through it.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I just finished my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in November of 2023 and I am looking forward to opportunities to share my offerings and bring forth the fruits of this practice with other practitioners and courageous souls whether consistently showing up or just starting off 🪷
Speaking and hosting is part of my other work, so being in front of a group is home ground. What I care about there is that the practice meets whoever is in the room, whether they're consistently showing up or just starting off 🪷

Staying in the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala early 2026, I was lucky to cross paths with Shoorasena Das (a wonderful sadhu and music teacher) and took my first two harmonium classes with him. It was a long time dream come true, after years of watching others and singing along in kirtans, and I instantly fell in love with the instrument.
I adopted a harmonium from Chennai the same trip, brought it home in a precious flight case, and have been practicing my chords and singing ever since. Being able to chant together at the start and end of class is such a joy, honoring the universe and synching our voices in community (as people have been doing since the beginning of time).
