<aside> ‼️ If you wish to test spinning up Bedrock nodes, please do so on our live Optimism Goerli testnet which underwent a Bedrock upgrade on January 12, 2023. See our Node Operator Guide and Upgrade Guide and our Goerli testnet info

Overview

This document outlines how to participate in the public rehearsal of our migration of Optimism Goerli to Bedrock.

In order to rehearse the migration we will be spinning up temporary forks of both the existing L1 Goerli and Optimism Goerli networks, and then running the full end-to-end migration on both forked networks. When complete, the contracts on our L1 Goerli fork and the Optimism Goerli fork will both be upgraded to Bedrock 🥳

The network has been migrated! We opted to preform the migration in advance, since there were no blockers.

<aside> ⚠️ Participating in the rehearsal is not a requirement for projects on Optimism, but is highly encouraged for infrastructure projects that run nodes like RPC Providers and Oracles.

Next Steps

👉 ****If you run Optimism nodes, read [Deprecated] Rehearse migrating your Optimism nodes to Bedrock for how to practice migrating your Optimism nodes from pre-Bedrock to Bedrock.

👉 If you are a dApp developer looking to deploy on Bedrock or a user looking to transact on Bedrock, check out [Deprecated] Test that your dApp migrates smoothly for how to use the network.

👉 If you don’t need to test the migration and would like to just make sure your application works on the Bedrock network, please test against our Beta Bedrock Testnet: [External][DEPRECATED] Optimism Bedrock Beta Testnet
