Capi was founded by Mitch Riley, Scott Liddle, and Tom Watson. Mitch and Scott were COO/CFO/GC and CRO/CMO at Taptap Send, a remittance unicorn, and have spent two decades between them working in emerging markets. Tom is a third-time founder having founded Hubble and P4SD.

Position Overview:

We’re in the process of applying to the FCA to become an EMI and looking for an MLRO / Compliance Officer to join our team in London. As MLRO / CO, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our AML/CTF program. You will also be responsible for ensuring that we are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain our AML/CTF compliance program
• Conduct risk assessments and implement effective risk management strategies
• Monitor and investigate suspicious transactions and activities
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those required for our FCA EMI application and our MSB registration in Canada
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate compliance risks while making sure all solutions are appropriate for the countries we operate in
• Develop and deliver training programs for employees

Ideal candidate:

• You’ve previously worked at a VC-backed start-up (required)
• You’ve worked at an early-stage start-up (Series A or earlier) + you’re excited to do it again. You know that this means you’ll have to do first-line work (and then automate it or hire for it) + whatever other tasks need to be done for the company to succeed
• You’ve been MLRO of another FCA licensed entity (required)
