TLDR;
When you offer a product or service that's more complex consider linking up more elaborate tutorials to help people get more value out of what you're offering.
Pro tips
- Use video to be able for members to consume the tutorial right away, as this is almost always embedded in the community environment
- Consider both a video + written resource. Some people prefer reading, others prefer watching. Think about your audience when creating the tutorial resource
- Break up topics, don't bundle a lot of concepts together. Take the attention span of your typical member into account.
- Briefly introduce the key lesson conveyed in the tutorial when communicating a tutorial resource in a chat-like environment and link up the elaborate resource
